We were very very skeptical before purchasing this. The only reason I ever heard of one of these is I was looking up to find out how much it cost to run the blower on a wood burner. There were several things on the sites that I found that said you could just add one of these fans on top of your fireplace. We decided what the heck for the price why not try it. Very pleased with the results!
